Terrance Day Newsletter - Last one

Greetings,

Starting last August 2008, my wife and I started traveling
and continued to travel until just 3 weeks ago. We were
on the road for a total of 10 months. The trips we took
were often in a big circle from Detroit to Pennsylvania, to
Viginia, South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Indiana.. and
back to Detroit.

Overall, the experience was very good. I played at many
places, sold some CDs, and met countless people. Many of
them are on this email list!

One of the cool things I should mention is that we were able
to travel and stay in great places (mostly resorts) for
under the monthly cost of staying in an $800 apartment.
We stayed in places right on the ocean, in the mountains,
and other great locations. Most places had a full kitchen so
we also cooked our own meals most of the time. That is a
great money saver. I'm also greatful for the friends
who offered us a place to stay from time to time.

A friend of mine suggested that I write a book about how to
travel on such a budget. I certainly could because of
everything I have learned. I'll just say it takes some out
of the box thinking.

One of the best things I got out of so much traveling is
a whole new perspective on Michigan, my career, family, and
direction. I also had much inspiration to write songs that
I will look forward to sharing with others during upcoming
performances.

This is the last "Terrance Day" newsletter since I'm going
to be going by an alias name from now on. It's not something
that I want to write about.. but you will get an update
about this soon.

Life is too short to over-think, be inactive, or wait around
for things to happen. I think that it's time to take some
action steps, make some more plans.. There's no point in
talking Big. I just wanna keep doing what I'm doing, but
keep on doing it a little better.

It's nice to be back in Michigan for the summer.

Cheers,

Terrance a.k.a. __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __

Legal Action Has Been Taken To FORCE Parents To Have Dangerous Chemo and Radiation Treatment On Their Child Vs. Natural Treatments Proven To Work Better.

Today a mother and 13 year old boy are on the run against the thugs that want to force chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

In addition, on religious grounds the parent's and child's constitutional rights are being violated at gunpoint.

While much of the news media is controlled, and people of our nation remain ignorant to what's really going on....

Read this article for more information about this mother and child currently on the run!

Terrance Day Newsletter - May 2009

Greetings,

It's nice to know that the summer will be here soon. The
Winter has been long. Right now we are in Florida, and the
weather is just right.. 85 degres, nice soft breeze, clear
skies and sunny.

Tomorrow I have a gig at a Blues Bar called "Lou's Blues"
from 2PM to 6PM on their patio. It's great to have gigs
while traveling but they don't come easy, or often enough.

On the road, coffee shops are the consistant thing that
connect the dots from city to city. Coffee and wireless
internet go good together.

Well, the tour continues and we're going on month number 10.
This summer we are looking forward to staying in Michigan for
June and July! I hope you will visit my calendar online from
time to time and come out to a gig. My newest songs are the
greatest songs I have ever written. If you come to a gig at
Colosanti's (Highland, MI), you can do your grocery shopping
while listening to me play over their PA system :)

Cheers,

Terrance

P.S. Need live music for a party this Summer? Write back
for more info.

Lyrics: Daytona

She moved down to Daytona
To start again some place new
All the while in Oklahoma
Somebody's still in love with you
Life on the beach is a vacation
At least for a little while
And her sunglasses hide the tear drops
That come and go just like her smile

She walks down that shore
On the line that meets the ocean and dry land
Not knowing where she's going
Waiting for someone to take her by the hand
She's waiting by the water for her ship to come in
Like a second chance

All the while he can see her
Walking by without a clue
He only wishes he could hold her
Tell her how he feels and make things new

He turns around and fights the feelings
Starts driving down the avenue
Onto the highway he keeps going
She will never know the truth

As he drives down that highway
Along the line that's going nowhere in the rain
Not knowing where he's going
Waiting for someone to let him be that man
He wants to be if there could be
A second chance

And she walks down that shore
Along the line between the ocean and dry land
Not knowing where she's going
Waiting for someone to take her by the hand
She's still waiting by the water for her ship to come in
Like a second chance

Feel free to pass this email (and song) along to your
friends, and please ask them to subscribe to my newsletter

Terrance Day Newsletter - Winter Part 2

Greetings,

It's good to be back in Michigan. I could complain about
plenty of things, but it would be petty stuff. I have a
nice schedule of gigs that I'm thankful for. For starters,
I'm thankful to be a Musician. Regardless of the economy
or attitude in Metro Detroit I still can write songs. As
long as I keep doing what I do it can build momentum
towards greater achievements.

Being in Metro Detroit feels like a giant college campus.
Most people are pinching penny's (like college students),
and trying to figure out what to do with their lives. We're
all still learning, preparing for the future, and wondering
what the future will be like.

Back in college at Western Michigan University, I was
singing in a rock band. I started a record label, and was
writing songs. After graduation, when I got a very good
position in a corporate job, I got fired because I couldn't
stay awake during a meeting. That's why I'm not working a
regular job. That incident put me on a completely different
path towards a simpler life. However, that doesn't mean
things are always easier. I'm just not afraid of getting
fired anymore. I know who the boss is (hint: it's not me).

Everyone has their own choices to make. Some just give too
much of their power to someone else. I guess that is why I
don't like any government, companies, or person having too
much power over anyone else.

I wrote a new song recently and thought I'd share the
lyrics with you. Some of you might connect with this
in a personal way. It took me about 12 or 13 years to get
these words out.

-Woke Up With The Sun

I wanted to show you
How I feel what's on my mind
And all this confusion
Gets broken down to one big lie
But I know there's a purpose
For what we've been through
And what I've learned
As I walk across this bridge
Before it burns

And I'm breaking the stronghold
that you had when I was down
and I'm coming to the surface
to catch my breath before I drown
As life goes on I know
I'll understand more of what you
Meant to me
as I live my dreams

(Chorus)
Woke up with the sun
Right where I belong
Should have known better
You were selling me lies
Should have known better

Now I'm taking my reason
And sanity before it's gone
And I packed up my suitcase
With memories that I might want
and it's a long road to healing
but I'm still alive and I'm
stronger than before
as I close the door

(Repeat Chorus)

(Bridge)
Forgiveness is yours
so I can move on
and your love is still yours
to do what you want
I'm gonna take a deep breath
Gonna feel everything
And then let it all go
When I'm done with the pain

(Repeat Chorus)
Should have known better just to tell you goodbye
(End)

Terrance Day Newsletter - Winter

Greetings,

Hello! It's been awhile since I last sent out a newsletter.
Usually I don't like to write unless I actually have
something to talk about...

The Holiday season was comforting to be back in Michigan
through December. I spent that time making an effort to not
stress about anything. This means not worrying about the
economy, etc..

Michigan is such a great place. My wife and I have been
traveling the country, and there is no place quite like
Michigan. However, I hear people saying bad things about
Michigan, but it seems they base their opinion on the
economy, or the media. People can make the economy an
excuse to be miserable. Well, nobody needs an excuse for
that. It comes down to a choice. If life is all about money,
well, you will probably be miserable (rich or not).

While I was back home I had few gigs, and especially enjoyed
sharing some of my new songs. I have played at Colosanti's
fruit market (in Higland, MI), and a restaurant called
Cranberrie's Cafe, and Raven Cafe in downtown Port Huron.
These are all independent Michigan businesses. However,
non-Michigan based business locations like Walmart do not
hire Musician's to play at their locations. Most corporate
chains and places like Walmart could care less about a
Musician like me... Walmart also does not seem to care about
the Michigan economy. Remember, every dollar you spend is
like a vote. Are you voting for Michigan? Support local
independent business.

Right now I'm in South Carolina and just booked a last
minute gig for tomorrow night at "Wild Wing" in Myrtle Beach.
After this weekend my wife and I will be heading further
south to Florida. You can see my current show schedule
at http://www.terranceday.com

I have been writing many new songs, and have been very
inspired as I travel the country. One of my new songs is a
song called "The Rodeo". My next album will be more Country
sounding than the last.

Lyrics:
The Rodeo

It was a pale blue moon when we left last night
just before dawn had come
In a dream of a life that I never knew
We were young and part of a rodeo
She was 18 and just out of school
I was a young wrangler with an attitude
Made a living out of riding and she followed me around
My folks compared me to a circus clown

(Chorus)
In the rodeo..
You do what you know
Kickin dust in the wind
Learn the rules as you go

In a real short time I got real good
That's when the money and the fame came like a hurricane
She kept me in line before it went to my head
And my folks found out the kind of son they had

(Chorus)
In the rodeo
You do what you know
Kickin dust in the wind
Learn the rules as you go

(Bridge)
Don't look back
Give a little slack
With the rope and the saddle
Keep on ridin'

Ridin' never gets old
But I sure did
When I woke up in my bed
n' saw what I Missed
Now I thank the good Lord that wasn't my life
But that don't mean that I still won't dream

(Chorus)
Of the Rodeo
Where you rock and you roll
Where you get what your givin'
When your workin' for a livin'
In the Rodeo
You do what you know
Kickin' dust in the wind
Learn the rules as you go
In the rodeo
